These terms govern your use of Know Your Rights UK (knowyourrightsuk.com). By using the site you accept them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

Everything on this site is general information about the law in the UK, it is not legal advice and does not create a solicitor-client relationship. The law changes and applies differently to individual circumstances, and rules differ across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

You should not rely on this site as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional. For advice on your specific situation, especially anything urgent or involving court proceedings, consult a solicitor, your local Citizens Advice, or a relevant specialist organisation.

Our chat assistant and any letters or documents it produces are generated to help you and are provided on the same ‘information, not advice’ basis. You are responsible for checking that any document is accurate and suitable before you use it. What you pay is shown before you pay it, and your cancellation and refund rights are set out below.

When you buy something from us online you normally have 14 days to cancel and get your money back, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Digital content is treated differently: that right ends once we start delivering the content, if you asked us to start straight away and were told you would lose the right by doing so.

In practice, that means a drafted letter or document is delivered immediately, so once it has been generated and shown to you the 14 day right no longer applies to it. If you have paid and the document has not been generated, or it will not open, or you were charged twice, tell us and we will refund you.

None of this affects your separate legal rights if what we supplied was faulty, not as described, or not of satisfactory quality. Those rights come from the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and we cannot sign them away in these terms.

A recurring subscription can be cancelled at any time and stops at the end of the period you have already paid for. Email us and we will do it, or use the manage subscription link in your account. To ask for a refund, email contact@knowyourrightsuk.com with the email address you paid with and roughly when you paid.

We work hard to keep the information accurate and up to date, but we make no warranty that it is complete, current or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from reliance on the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under UK law (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).

The original content, design and branding of this site belong to Know Your Rights UK. You may read, print and share pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not republish or reproduce substantial parts of the site without our permission.

Some legal information is derived from material published on legislation.gov.uk and used under the Open Government Licence v3.0.

The site contains links to other websites and may display advertising or affiliate links. We are not responsible for the content, products or practices of third-party sites, and a link or ad is not an endorsement. Any clearly-marked affiliate links may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you, see our privacy notice.

You agree not to misuse the site, for example by attempting to disrupt it, scrape it at scale, or use it for any unlawful purpose.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of its courts, save where mandatory consumer law gives you other rights.
